You look at the cam stack which is the long nylon...

You look at the cam stack which is the long nylon part, with all the different patterns on it for the stitches. Rotate it if you can with the hand wheel and look for cracks.

Double check the cam stack isn't cracked. It's is a common problem for this model. I have this machine and it's a great one.
