Wow I feel lucky that never happened to me! I often have to pay the VAT and Royal Mail handling charge (though some do slip through) but that's the worst that has happened!

Yes, shipping would have been £10 from that seller.
Though I just ordered 7 yards of a moda fabric line from another American seller and only paid £16 shipping. Which means I'm still £50 ($77)...

I just bought this gorgeous fabric from my LQS but it set me back £16($25)/meter.
Get home and find an American vendor selling it for £4($6)/ meter. Sigh! But at least it's the perfect fabric...
