Thank you. The binding is charmeuse satin. Yes I ruffled the satin first then I used the birthing method and layered the satin with the batting, front and back. I do like how the ruffle turned out

Merry Christmas! thank you for your kind words....yes the ruffle is the binding. I did that birthing method to get the ruffle on the edges. I was going for a "country" feel I am just not sure...
