I used the Fons and Porter easy diagonal sets...
I used the Fons and Porter easy diagonal sets ruler. You can see it in the pictures I posted. It is a half square triangle.

Also when sewing your strips together press each strip as you sew or you will end up with a wonky strata. It is a good idea to starch the stratas well. Ask me how I know. LOL

Just remember the larger your triangles the wider the strata and the more strips you will need. You may only get two or three cuts from one strata strip.
