Thanks for the link!! Great info, but I am frowning, because I thought my 301a was made in 1951, my birth year, and I now think it was in 1953 or 54. :-(

I had to get new power cord and foot controller for mine, as she came without. I am very happy with the control I have with the new controller.

Thanks for the tips on the tension. I think I'll have to try that after all my hustling around is done....so that's the end of January. I'll come back and post how it went. For now it's sewing OK....
