Well, if you get no satisfaction from the seller, you can partially wrap the thread around the bobbin while leaving a tail to hold on to, then after it gets established, you can stop and cut the tail...

I got mine on Ebay, I don't remember who though... I got a box of 100 but they sell smaller quantities. Are you sure there's no hole? My hole is where the slit is and it was a little hard to see...
