I opened it up a couple of days ago and took another look.

All of the gears appear to be intact except for the bottom drive gear.

I ordered one from Amazon for seven dollars. It should be here...

It doesn't look like it's ever been cleaned.

Usual lint and whatnot and I don't believe disintegrating broken gear dirt helps any.
