There's a Christmas version in this month's The Quilter mag. Even bigger blocks, 8 1/2 in cut size. It's really nice. Works up to a queen size when finished.

Thats what I was afraid of. I have all the squares cut and some of the triangles done. Can I just cut down the squares that don't get made into triangles? I started with all 6 in unfininshed...

Your HQT should start 1/2 in biggger, 3/4 to be on the safe side. Make the HST as usual, Then square them up to match the 61/2 in squares. So, for the HQT start with a 7in square.

This is what it looks like with 6 in [finished] squares, a 1 in red border, and a 7 in outer border. About 64 in finished. I've made 3 so far. One is in my sewing room, the other 2 are in my girls...
