Hey again.... out of curiosity I did an autopsy on the 606 foot pedal, expecting to see a housing for carbon discs and instead found that the inside looks like photo you posted earlier in the thread...

Thank you for you reply, it's helpful. :-) The motor is off of the machine so that I could clean around it and because I'm afraid it will burn up - smoke pours out when it's in use. Same...
