I found boards at Home depot . They are facia trim boards for your house. well I bought those because they were already painted on all 4 sides,very smooth. They even cut them to the size I needed....

I found the perfect fabric , then a pattern ( Thank you for all the help everyone). I had never attempted curves before :-o but I think I can live with this. It lays flat and no ripples or puckering....

I am looking for a pattern that uses only two fabrics... one light and one dark... I found the most beautiful fabric that I just had to have. It also did not hurt that it was only a $1.00 a yard :D ...
