Try putting a wide rubber band on the wheel then a piece of elastic for a belt, till you get one. Or a piece of ¼” tubing or an old “rubber” electric cord.

I think the cord is used to outline the hole before it is cut out. Then the hoop holds the fabric tight so you can stitch across an empty space. It can be done. That is how the new emb machines does...

I found this today and looked at it. It does not have the bottom for reverse, but it does have the 2nd upper lever above the pressure foot lever. The number on the shuttle plate is 3735183 I think....
