You can't just change the plug. The amp service in North America is not the same as Europe. You'll either have to use a transformer/adapter, or have it rewired/possibly re-motored. Have a pro look...

I am not an expert by any means. But I would guess that the bottom one was for shoe making just by the way there is no "bed" so it can reach into small places.

Ugly Betty was fetching $100 Can. The bottom edge was all chipped and corroded looking. The machine ran well but we didn't try it with thread in. I never thought of bringing my own!
