Perfect, that makes much more sense to me.
I'm going to try your method with the next kid's (not baby) rag quilt.
I think it would work just as well on a chenille-d quilt.

I'm pretty sure I'd cut either too much and not have...

Just a thought -
If I were giving that to a baby, I'd be washing it many more times to make sure it's ALL...
