Thank you Mickey2...yes there is a black lever, it was just laying inside the box but I did find out how to put it up on the lid.
I am anxious to get started sewing with this but the cord doesn't...

Ok my problem was that I had to resize my photo...also in this photo is a ??lever? to wind?? Not sure what it is for ...any help would be appreciated...thank you.

I have just been gifted with a Singer Bentwood with the serial number of JB276149. I have looked on the Singer site but all they have is J.....not JB...is there any place else I may look?
