Thanks all ... I decided to chuck the "White" parts and I just ordered a foot controller from Sew-Classic.

I knew it wasn't a 'correct' setup because the motor plugs into NOTHING. Just two leads going no-where. The machine didn't come with a foot pedal, I'll have to pick one of those...

The "weird oblong dohickey" is the brown thing...
The "weird oblong dohickey" is the brown thing with a silver rim bottom and tan dots - located at the back wall, bottom of the cabinet

Electric setup on my Spartan - confused
I am electrically challenged.
I just cleaned my ninety-nine cent spartan and cabinet and I was going to pull the motor and plugs out of the cabinet and clean those as well. I'm very confused...
