I brush off most of my light chalk lines and sometimes use a damp face cloth to get any remaining marks. You can also wash your quilt if you have any marks remaing.

I use painter's tape for quilting straight lines. I put a few pins in it also to keep it in place. On dark fabrics I use white cardboard chalk. I sharpen it into a nice point with a make up pencil...
