getting "v" cuts in your strips would indicate you have not smoothed out the fabric flat and there must be a waiver in it somewhere.

I agree with Prism99...look how many of those quilt sticks you would have to collect. Not to mention store. The June Tailor Shape Cut is much, much easier and all in one piece.
