The k means it was made at the Kilbowie Singer...

The k means it was made at the Kilbowie Singer plant near Glasgow, Scotland.
The factory was one of Siinger's largest .
I was born and brought up in Scotlnd, so close to my heart.
Love my 99K and...

Yep! the K says that the machine was made in the Kilbowie plant in Clyde Bank SCOTLAND :) I have one and would not part with it..... I'm looking for a 185K now :):)
