I just used ribbon instead of making ties... they are sewn in when you sew the 2 layers together. I did machine stitch my corners, because I used a very thick batting and I didn't want the ribbon to...

3 little baskets ready for gifts

I modified this project a bit. I had left over layer cake pieces... they worked great for this project. Baskets are about 6x6x1 1/2. I am happy with the way they turned out.
