Michael's has tips, but they were in the area with the glass paints (paints used on plates, for example). I imagine they are used for delicate paint work as well as for glue.

No. Most of the starch we use is made from corn (or potatoes, or rice). Starch is biodegradable and dissolves in water. Safe for septic systems.

Wow. That's the first time I have seen this method described. I wonder if it works equally well with different types of batting. Suppose some test sandwiches would work that out.

It's not the Elmer's school glue that is used by some people for basting a quilt; it is the Elmer's spray adhesive.

Throughout this thread, people have confused the two products and their uses.

The spray adhesive is a different product from the school glue. The Elmer's spray adhesive is used by some people to baste quilt layers, similar to 505 and other spray basting adhesives.
