I'm at my wits end ....I have a flannel quilt...

I'm at my wits end ....I have a flannel quilt finished and am wanting to FMQ it....I want us a stencils but chalk hasn't worked and the fabric is too dark for any marker....how do I get the stencil...

I also have found the beautiful stencils...I am very new to FM and don't understand how to get the stencil on the fabric....do I mark it with a marker...or print it and and sew over it....
