I just strip cut the material in 2 1/2 inch...
I just strip cut the material in 2 1/2 inch strips, then into 2 1/2 inch squares and placed them where I thought they looked good. If I thought an area needed something in particular then I did...

Yes, the plain white squares are also 2 1/2 inch squares... when I did this before I considered not cutting the white but thought it would look more uniform if I did and then just sew it back...

Well, stuck a piece of it on the wall next to it...
Well, stuck a piece of it on the wall next to it so you could see....I cut it in 2 1/2 inch strips and then 2 1/2 inch squares and then I filtered thru them and picked out what worked where! LOL ...
