I do what Neesie does. Never have bothered with watering down, spraying, or painting on. Drizzle straight from bottle. My machines do fine with it and it always washes out.

I have used your method the last 6 quilts and it works great. I am so happy with it. My machine hasn't had any issues, and I too am "frugal" with the thin bead of glue. Close enough to each other...
