Maybe someone whose husband was in the U.S. military was stationed in England and took it over with them, but then gave it away before returning when their tour of duty was over.
My sister (who is with the American Red Cross) got a sewing machine from a soldier who was returnng to the U.S. when she was in Iraq. Before she left Iraq, she sent it to my daughter, who was stationed in Okinawa. When my daughter left Okinawa, she gave the machine to another female Marine. Who knows where it is now.
