the CD that comes with the book only includes .pdf files for the templates. there is a separate file for each template.

in order to use EQ 5, 6, or 7 to work your way through the project you need to purchase the EQ Companion CD for the Farmer's Wife quilt. it's surprisingly inexpensive. i got mine for less than $20 including shipping. i don't remember where i bought it, but amazon has it today for even less than i paid.

Stefanib has gone through the whole book and tallied the number of times each template is used. Not only that, she created a fantastic excel spreadsheet to collect all that invaluable information. it's a great reference to use for deciding whether to use new paper templates for each block or to save time by making sturdier templates that will stand up to use for all the blocks. i've attached an adobe document that copies the count for the templates used in the first two blocks. more to come later. For those who can't wait, Stefanib also uploaded the results of her heroic effort to this web address:
http://www.mediafire.com/?s48id9td0296fws (It will have a little box that says "click here to start download" and then a box will pop up asking to open or save it.)

Honchey is also going through the book. She's developing rotary cutting instructions for those who don't like templates. I've attached the instructions for the first two blocks.

This topic is locked so that Muriel and Donna can keep it compact and well organized for you to use as a central point of reference.

They are putting together a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) topic to organize the ... you guessed it ... most frequently asked questions and the answers. Until then, we'll continue to use the original topic, which can be found here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-52690-1.htm

make sure to start at the top and read all the way through if you haven't been following along from the beginning. bazillions of questions have already been asked and answered there. it's long, but loads of fun to read. :-)
