My method is a cross between Carol Doak and Judy Mathieson - both copyrighted methods. I don't want to step on either of these wonderful designer's toes. However, if your library has either of these 2 ladies' books, you can teach yourself. Judy uses freezer paper & I found that it wouldn't stick very well - kept having to re-iron everything. Was worried that the pattern was on crooked. I wasn't happy with the outcome as it was slightly wonky, but I finished it anyway. I use newsprint - from the Dollar Tree. It's rougher than newspaper newsprint and tears out beautifully. It's called "Scribble Pad" & in the kiddy crayon section. It is also sold at office & artist supply stores in larger pieces in pads - 17" x 22", I think. 100 sheets that size go for $15.00 or so. I go for the 9" x 12" for $1.00 for 50 sheets.
