I made my daughters aprons from recycled jeans, they loved them. I didn't insert fabric onto the yoke but made a tie for the waistband by sewing a piece of fabric 36 x 4/1/2 lengthwise and inserted it through the belt loops and tacking it down on the center and ends.you can add some cute flowers cut out from fabric and sewn on to apron. here is a link that is similar.
