Since I am from that area, and have seen the eagles myself many times during the summer, and received the pictures from a local, I didn"t think about it not being Alton. Never even questioned the background because of the river bluffs . Anyway, they were great to see, but I just hate giving wrong information. BTW, my BIL does live there, and he showed us still shots and a video he took of an eagle nest with babies in it. And it was in Godfrey,IL !!
This IS the time of year that the eagles can be found on the Mississippi River around the Alton/Godfrey area. For those that want to plan a road trip though, you should know that it would be unusual to see that many and especially not up close like that. They are usually seen flying between their nests in the trees along the banks down to the river to feed. They are a beautiful sight though.
