A very close friend of mine has had a very hard year (her 29th) her mother passed away suddenly last year, her husband has been deployed to Afghanistan...just a crappy year. Her 30th birthday is the 10th of April and I can't be there for it :( so I decided to make her a quilt then when I found out she was having surgery, I figured I'll make the quilt and go take her for surgery and then just give her the quilt while I'm there.
I started on this the evening of the 22nd finished it the morning of the 29th, delievered it in Ft Campbell the 30th!

Pattern is "Surf Song" from the book "Twist and Turn Bargello" but I did like Eddie and added a 1/2 inch to the pieces to make a larger finished quilt. I also only used 15 fabrics instead of the 20 the pattern calls for. Purple fabrics are hard to find! lol

ugh just noticed that my husband was holding it up--side-down in the only picture that I got of it. I'm gonna see if Rach will send me the pictures she took!
