Okay, apparently EQ doesn't have an apple core layout - only a hexagon layout. Or maybe I haven't learned how to get to the apple core layout. :mrgreen: Sooooo... back to pencil and paper.

A block of four apple cores will finish at roughly 9" square, so a tablerunner 18 x 36 will need 32 apple core patches.

Or you can make it narrower - 3 patches wide by 8 patches long will make a runner about 13 X 36. You can make a pretty border by cutting halves and quarters of the apple core shape from one piece of fabric and piecing them around the outside edges to make a square or rectangle. Accents the apple core shape and no craziness in putting on the binding. (although binding an apple core isn't really that hard, don't let me scare ya - mostly I like that look - I saw it in one of the shows in the Quilting Quickly II series and started cutting apple cores right away. :) )
