Yes, I discovered this years ago while altering a garment pattern and the seams weren't matching up. I couldn't blame me LOL so I started comparing my rulers - metal, plastic, and wood. Whata shocker. Every ruler got marked 'true' or 'not true.' My 'gold standard' is the wooden Dietzgen draftsman's ruler my dad used in college back in the 1920's.
