ETA --- duh, never mind. I actually did read all the posts but it didn't sink in until I read it again.
There are lines where you fold it to the 1/4 seam allwance and then you stitch it and that is that easy. I had the same question and when I got my pattern it was amazed at how the lone star came together and matched up nice. Only thig was that it volcanoed on me, but was able to fix that. So at the end result, you will have no raw edges when the quilt is completed. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay
