I looked into them but they are not quite as nice as the Bernina 1008 mechanical. I have been using Bernina for a long time, so I had a preference before I bought. My Bernina dealer is an Old Order Mennonite couple who live out in the country on a farm and deal to the local Plain Community. (Amish and Old Order Mennonite) who don't have electricity in their houses, and so need to have a treadle and the combination of a modern machine with all the stitches, far outstrips the old singer treadles, Not that those are bad, I learned to sew on one, but those automatic buttonholes are much easier to get a nice product that a straight stitch machine. But if you had familiarity with Janome, that would be a good choice, as most of your feet would work with that machine. Hope this helps you.
