This site helps a lot of new quilters not make the mistakes the rest of us have made. It great that there is a person to ask those questions. I know I started quilting when there weren't many people around me that quilted and I didn't have the internet to look at tutorials and such.
The Internet is a godsend. 20 years ago, when I first got this quilt, I knew it should be hand quilted, since the top was all hand pieced. I remember searching in the library and book stores, looking for this "unknown pattern" to see the traditional way to quilt it. I finally opted for stitching about 1/4 inch from the seems. Lots of trial and error, but DONE :)
