Shoot I was hoping you were just snoozing! LOL Sounds like you have things under control there. I am really sorry you had this scare! MY DH works away from home a lot. SOmetimes 3-6 weeks at a time but I have kids and grown DGS that comes over alot at night in & out. It is hard to tell if anyone is home here or not. Lots of times the DGS will meet his friends here and they will all crawl into 1 vehicle & leave the others parked here. I have more room than his mom does.
I was never afraid to stay by myself until this happened. But I always felt a lot more safer when my kids were home when hubby had to work away. But they haven't been here for a long time. They flew and left the nest!
When you had kids in the house you weren't alone. Makes a big difference!
