Default quilt as you go

I am finishing a fractured gems quilt for dgd and have done the middle (60 x 80) as one piece. Quilted it on the lines of the pattern which are large circles. It was almost more than I could manuever through the throat of the machine. Now I will assemble the fall on each side of the quilt, and machine quilt them. Then I will sew sashing strips together down the middle. Then will sew each sashing strip to the sides of the large piece and then to the respective side falls. Then turn to right side, turn under and stitch with a decorative stitch with matching thread (I think). Then will assemble the fall going across the bottom of the quilt and add it in the same manner. I am going to round off thecorners of the bottom fall so as to avoid the vacuum cleaner. Then bind, by hand. I have done 3 or 4 quilts with this method and I like it, because it looks good and it doesn't cost me a lot of money and I quilted it myself.
