I love this thread and realize that I too, have had down time on sewing over the years. Can hardly believe that because sewing a bit each day/evening is my grounding time and it calms my day so I look forward to it every day. If I don't have the energy to concentrate, I just sew strips onto foundation for string blocks and it brings the calm I need at the end of the day. I have made so many quilts for friends and family that they don't want to even see me coming with a bag! I still love to buy fabric, try new patterns and all that goes with quilting, so now I make most of my quilts lap size and donate them to our Cancer Society who give them to cancer patients. I know these quilts are much appreciated and I don't have to do a lot of planning or fussing, just make they pretty. I hope those of you in down time find encouragement from these posts to pick up your sewing projects and renew your love of sewing.
