I was looking at the PDF's last night. I've saved one to my zip drives, so I've been perusing. It looks like the needle goes in sideways and you have the thread the machine from right to left. That seems completely backwards to my other machines. Thanks for your help. I've made a date to look at You Tube so I can watch some of those videos. The long metal thing that runs the whole width of the machine, it turns and I think that is what runs the up an down of the thread take up..it's gunky with what looks like little balls of grease. I think it needs to be cleaned out before I dare sew on her.
