Candace, my 301 is in perfect shape. I just think she needs to look as good as she sews. I paid $61 and it's going to be mine until one of us dies, so why not have some fun with it. The paint on my Elna 62 is worn in spots, too, but I know what the machine has been asked to sew - including heavily beaded wedding dress fabric - so I will let her spots be badges of honor.
My pretty 15 clone with the shamrocks has a silver MW on the arm and a badge on the motor that says, "Montgomery Wards".
