You did a great job and didn't cost you an arm and a leg. For the scratches, spray sand spray sand and spray. That shoudl take care of that. I like wet sanding paper for a super smooth finish. You will only need to do the area scratched, so it won't be all that bad. Try making a bag out of upholstery material for the pedal, to prevent a repeat. You are to be commended.
