On the local CL ads, there is one from a disabled mom asking for a free sewing machine, vintage is okay, to help repair her boys' jeans. She has 2 who are growing like weeds.
Now, I am skeptical and a little leary but am wondering if I should respond. I am torn about this ad and asking for advice as I do realize this could be a scam or something worse.

I give away machines all the time. I would say you need to bring it over to her, and give her a 70's type machine that runs but has no collector value. I would not give away a collectable machine. How do I get these machines? I never say no to a free machine. Figure the practice repairing them is worth it, and then I give them away. Laura
