it depends on the batting you choose- if you choose one (like warm & natural) that allows up to 10" between quilting lines you could probably just quilt around the outside of each flower- if you choose one (like hobbs heirloom) which requires 2" between quilting lines you will need to quilt the hex's...but it's a personal choice- you can quilt it any way you want. remember to share pictures!
