I made one for my husband.It's a free pattern called Dixie. It's not the usual busy sampler look. Can't remember where i found it but i bet you can google it. The same sight also had a couple other free CW patterns. I just did it a few months ago. Dixie has the dates of the CW appliqued on it it...instead i put the name of my husband's great grandfather's regiment. It uses a panel in the center. I used Confederate Generals, but you could substitute any of the available panels out there. My husband loves it and believe me, he wouldn't know a quilt if it fell on his head.
