I am trying to help an elderly lady get her Singer 31-15 machine going and she thought it might need a new belt. It's an odd machine....sort of like a treadle but also electrified. I would love to have a picture of how the belt looks when it's on correctly.
I've already found, by searching pictures on the internet, that I was trying to put the belt 'in front' of the bobbin pulley rather than in back of it. When I turned the machine on the belt was
smoking where it passed around the bottom pulley. I don't know if it was because the belt was too loose, too tight or just because I had incorrectly brought it up in front of the bobbin pulley (not sure if that is the right name for it).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
