It takes a lot of fabric...totally amazed how much it does use. The rug is nice and heavy. Once done I will use rug binding or burlap on the edge. I have been doing a locker hook rug also. Took a class in it at our LQS, only wish I had gone back and forth like you are doing instead of going all away around. It makes each row so long, but it's too late now, I have 8-10 rows done. Yours looks real nice. I did 1 1/4" strips and found that pressing them in half helped when I hooked it.
