I'm soooo jealous. Both of my daughters made a few simple 9-patch blocks when they were in their teens and that is a far as it got. One of my daughters tried hand quilting, but didn't stick with it long enough to do very well, but I'll give her credit for trying. The heritage of piecing quilts and hand quilting is stopping with my generation. I do have one niece who is interested. Ironically, her mother is the only one of the four sisters that doesn't do quilting, so guess it's skipping a generation with that sister. Oh, yes, another sister's son has learned to hand quilt and does quite well. Now that he is almost 15, I'm not sure it's too "manly" to do right now, but who knows, he may come back to it.
