But I can't remember, did you tell me you don't like to paper piece or just haven't tried it yet? This would be the perfect opportunity to stretch your already expansive skills and add one more tool to your arsenal. If you are dead set against PP a New york beauty then I vote for your "delectable mountains" sunrise (the second picture) But I really think a NYB expanding across the sky portion of your quilt would be show-stopping gorgeous! One that looks like Block 2 or 7 from this site

I can't wait till this summer. ;-) My latest idea is to use the kaleidescope block--I feel I have a lot of control over sizes and colors with that one. I'll go peek at your idea though--I think I remember what it looks like... scary. ;-)
