Here is what the cross stitched block says:
The cornucopiae, the horns of plenty, an emblelm of abundance of fruits and flowers.
The chevron, a V-like figure or picture, rank of standing, for those who fought under William the conqueror in 1066.
The Lillies in the chevron indicate the name of the family, Lilly, for which this Coat of Arms was made.
Names:
Half bushel John, One Arm Bill, Preacher Will, Sock Head Andy, Groundhog Sam, Miller Bob, Clowney Lewis. Just to name a few. The Clowney Lewis was the father of the person I made the quilt for so I put his name here too.
The next picture is what I had to go by to make the center. It is off the cover of a Lilly receipe book.
