On a LeMoyne Star (also eight pointed) all sides of the points are the same length, thus making a diamond. Sometimes the LeMoyne Star has the diamond divided down the longways center which of course leads to a piecing nightmare of 16 seams coming together in the middle.
that's what I was taught.....the LeMoyne is made with diamonds. This is a beautiful star!
