When I first got into Quilting board I was unable to put things together that "Didn't go together". Since, I found a pattern that I used up scraps of all kinds and kind of made it go. Then I found a comforter at Salvation Army and it was the same size as the quilt top. So I tied the two together. I renamed the quilt "Ruggly" Rita's ugly quilt.
It is so ugly that it is kind of pretty. I to have orphan pieces. Most of mine are the ones that are suppose to be
3-1/2 x 3-1/2 after the diagonal cut from a 3-7/8" square that aren't wide enough. How they get that way is a mystery to me when I am so careful after some maddening trial by error moments. Mostly error. After my ugly quilt top I am going to try another top and see if I can get any uglier. It is all fun for me and makes my laugh.
